This Past Week...
With the hot weather, we have been out by the pool EVERYDAY which has been so much fun! We have Hailee's little pool set up next to the big pool. This way, she can play all that she wants without having to have us hold her. Gregg is getting so dark! It's so not fair that he can get so tan in one day and it takes me several days! Oh well!
Lastly, today I got my hair cut. (Again!) A few weeks ago I decided to go short, and then this past week I decided to go even shorter and I LOVE it! Thanks Katie Stowell, you do such an AWESOME job!!!
Well, that's all for this week! Hope you guys all had a great week too!

A Weekend Full of FUN!
Lastly, I would like to wish my Father in law Dave and step Father in law Skip a happy Fathers day too!
A few months back, we joined some others and started the team "On Fire For a Cure" for Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society. Below is our team.
Everyone had to raise money for this event that went towards the cancer society foundation. This event was a 24 hour walk. Through out the day, you had to have one team member on the track walking until the next person came to relieve you. The goal was to have someone from your team on the track at all times. This past Saturday morning was opening ceremonies. The first lap was all of the cancer survivors. It was a very touching thing to watch these people walk around the track. There were people of all ages, little kids to old people. Its scary to realize that cancer can hit anyone at anytime. This event was very touching at made me realize that no one is immune from this nasty disease.
That evening, they had a "luminary ceremony" where they lined the entire track with luminary bags lit with candles. Each bag was dedicated to someone who has passed away or who survived. The bags were 3 deep, around the entire track and then up on the bleachers. I couldn't believe HOW MANY luminaries there were! It was so sad. While we were walking to track, there was a family in front of us walking, and the father was cheering out that he was a survivor of cancer when he came to his luminary bag. A minute later, he came across another bag and said "That's my son! That's my son!" And then he came to another one saying "That's my daughter! That's my daughter!" All three of them have survived that battle. It made me realize how blessed our family is with great health. I couldn't even imagine how hard life would be knowing that 3 people in your immediate family were faced with cancer.
Hailee had a long day!
In the morning walking our laps. This was Hailee's first big event! Many more like this to come!
First lap with the cancer survivors.
On Friday, we had swim day #2. Rachel, Tina and their kids all came over! The weather was perfect and we all got some color! It was alot of fun! We definitely have to do this again!
So..... a while ago we bought Hailee a walker aka "The DEW Mobile"! She LOVES it! It is so nice that she is mobile (since she is not interested in crawling at all- You can hold her hands and she will walk...but crawling.....YA RIGHT! LOL) Well, since she has gotten pretty good in this, she has discovered that she can get into pretty much everything! I found her the other day getting into the trash! She pulled out a lettuce bag and was chomping away on it!
This is how Hailee has been lately! Wiped out from all of the fun she has been having!

Lastly, my Mom and I have been training for our 1st marathon! This past Sunday, June 1st, We ran the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon! I couldn't say this at the time, but now that it's over, it was fun! During the race, it was HARD! I honestly didn't think it would be hard because our training runs weren't' that bad, and our longest run was 24 miles! But, Whatever! I have to say that we did do an awesome job, considering that we ended up running 27.55 miles (From having to weave in and out of everyone to pass them). I definitely want to do another one now!
We stayed the night before down in San Diego. We had so much fun! On Sunday morning we had to be up by 4:15 and on the shuttle by 5am, and we knew it would be cold so we went to Target and both bought the most hideous big shirts we could find to keep up warm! But hey, they were only $3.00 each, and once we warmed up during the race, we threw them to the side of the road!
At 5:45 am, waiting for the race to start And we're off!
This was definitely such an awesome experience, to be able to run my first marathon with my Mom! Thanks Mom! You're the greatest!
