Being Parents...

Wow, being a parent is such an amazing experience and feeling. It is such a joy to be able to look at our daughter and know that she is ours for eternity. We are so blessed to have her.
These past two weeks have definitely been hard. We have been adjusting to the three hour blocks of sleep each night, the feedings, changing diapers and trying to get enough rest for ourselves. Even though it has been really hard, it is so worth it! We absolutely LOVE being parents! Hailee brings so much happiness and love into our lives.
Also, one of the best things is being able to play dress up with her! While my mom was in town, we took so many pictures, we would put her in one outfit, take pics, change her clothes, take more pics, and so on. It was so much fun!

Our little angel is here....

Wow! What an amazing week we have had. On Sunday November 25th, I went into labor. We actually didn't know I was really in labor, I thought that my contractions would be a lot worse than they were, but I guess I was wrong. That night we decided to go to the hospital, considering my contractions were 3 1/2 minutes apart. We were afraid that they would just send us home, but luckily, they didn't! My water didn't break until we were there, (actually, when the nurse was checking to see how far dilated I was, then it broke) and once it broke, wow! Contractions were so painful! Thankfully, I was able to get an epidural right away. Things were going very smoothly right up until I was about to deliver. That's when Hailee's heart beat dropped significantly, and I ended up having to have an emergency C- section to make sure both her and I would be okay. She was born November 26th 2007 (1 day early!) at 1:22 am. She weighed 7 lbs 7 ounces and is absolutely beautiful! We are so excited to have her as our daughter. She is such a blessing in our lives, we love her so very much and we just can't get enough of her! She already seems like she is growing up way too fast!
We stayed at the hospital until Thursday which was very nice. I am recovering very well from the c-section; it honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
Gregg has been the most amazing (well, he is always amazing) husband this week, and is the cutest Dad ever! We are both so wrapped around Hailee's lil finger, which is so good! When we came home, Gregg had bought balloons and a welcome home baby girl banner and had it in Hailee's room. It was so adorable!
My parents were able to fly up early Monday morning, my Mom is still here and has been such a great help to us. My Dad had to fly home a few days later, but it was so fun having him here. They are absolutely LOVING being Grandparents! (This is their first grand baby!)
Gregg's Dad and step Mom were able to come down on Wednesday to visit us at the hospital. They are both so excited to for her arrival!
Well, things here are going great, we are LOVING being parents and are so proud to call her our daughter!

39 Weeks!

So, I am now 39 weeks along and hopefully I only have one more week until Hailee is born (But, if she does come early....we sure won't be complaining!) I have to say that pregnancy is so easy! I really lucked out and didn't have any morning sickness, I was able to keep up my running until 7 months, and since then I have continued walking on a daily basis. It's been alot of fun! I have really enjoyed it and I am honestly going to kind of miss being pregnant; BUT I am way more excited to be able to hold Hailee in my arms and for us to be able to play with her. Im also really excited to get back into shape and start running again. So, we will definately be keeping everyone posted on when she is born!

FISHING TIME!

Yesterday our good friends Brian and Laura took us to their "secret fishing pond" where they said we would be guaranteed to catch some fish. Well, with my history of fishing (which is not good..everytime I have been, I haven't caught anything!) I was pretty doubtful that I would actually catch something. So, I was really hoping that this trip would be different. I did warn everyone that I might be bad luck, so if everyone doesn't catch anything, then they would know who to blame! But HA! I wasn't bad luck this time! We all ended up catching fish! It was so fun and I was so proud of my lil fish that I caught! Once we were all done, we pulled out the handy dandy lil fish scale that my parents had bought Gregg last year so we could measure each fish to determine who's was the biggest. And can you guess who's was? GREGG'S was! His fish was huge! He was so excited and so proud of it! It was so cute! So, today he took our fish to work so him and his crew can eat them for dinner! Hopefully they will be good!

It's Pumpkin Time!

Last night, October 20, we had our friends Brian and Laura over to carve pumpkins. It was a lot of fun! It made us feel like we were little kids again, getting all serious about who's pumpkin is going to look the best and who had the coolest design! There were a lot of good laughs doing it! We wanted to go to one of the haunted corn mazes too, but the weather was horrible! It was so cold and snowed so much last night! So, we decided pumpkin carving and a movie was good enough for the night!

Also, I was going through my pictures and just HAD to post these next few! They are from when we were in California. While we were there, my family had a Wii Bowling tournament. It was so much fun! Gregg and Kip took it to the next level though, they got completely decked out in their "Wii" attire! It was hilarious! So, when we are back in December everyone better be prepared for our official "Wii Team Outfits!" Go Team Hardy!

Wow, things have been so busy lately!

Wow, things have been so busy lately! We got back from CA a few weeks ago and we were looking forward to relaxation time, but we sure didn't get it! We have been soooo busy! The week after we got home, my Grandma Robinson had a stroke and went into a coma. =( My Dad flew up and stayed the night with us and then continued on to Wyoming where my Grandma and Grandpa live. Two days later, she passed away. Rest of my family flew up last Friday and we all drove to Wyoming where her funeral was held. However, Gregg was unable to go because he was scheduled to work 48 hours in a row (he has been paying back guys who covered his shifts while we were in CA). The funeral went really well. My Grandma was buried in Freedom, WY, on top of the most beautiful hill. It was a sad weekend but we all knew she is where she is supposed to be now. She didn't suffer at all which made saying goodbye to her a lot easier. The day of her funeral ended up being more emotional then we thought. Of course we cried at the funeral, but on the way back to our motel, my mom got a phone call from her Dad, my Grandpa Ginos and he told us that my cousin David and his wife had been in a horrible car accident. At that time they weren't sure if David would live, he had major head trauma and bleeding in the brain. Julie suffered fractures to the face, but she was not critical. Thankfully, they are both doing much better now. Julie has been released from the hospital but David will remain there for probably a few more weeks.

On a positive note now, Gregg was invited to test with Anaheim! I just dropped him off at the airport this afternoon and he will be taking the physical test tomorrow. If all goes as planned, then he will be back in CA for the oral board on Oct. 25Th or 26Th. I'm really hoping to be able to go too, but we will see if the doctor will let me still fly. Let's hope!
Yesterday was my birthday and Gregg is such a sweet heart! He made my day so wonderful (like always!) We didn't do anything too extravagant, we kept it very simple (mainly by my choice). After these past couple of hectic weeks, my body was REALLY needing a rest day! So, Gregg let me have it! It was wonderful! We slept in till 9:30am! I haven't slept in that late in forever! It was wonderful! After we woke up and got ready, I opened my presents. He did a really good job on them! Later that afternoon, we took our dog up the canyon for a nice 6 mile walk. It was so beautiful! The leaves are changing colors and we were surrounded by bright yellows, oranges and reds! I wish I would have had my camera!
Anyways, Gregg get back in town tomorrow night! Quick trip for him! Good for me, cuz I already miss him so much! I know, I know, I'm so obsessed with him! Ha ha! I love it! This week will be really busy for him. He has a big project for work on Wed, Thurs, and Fri. He is teaching the crews all about the, hmm... I can't even think of the name right now, but it's when they have to cut someones throat open and insert the tube so they can breathe...ya, you all know what I'm talking about! =) So, that's what he is teaching and helping everyone refresh their skills on. He does an amazing job at it! I went to one of the days of the class last year he put on, and wow, it is so fascinating! I really enjoyed it!
Well, I think I have blabbed on enough for tonight so I guess I should stop! Be back next week!

ABOUT US

Hey there! Welcome to our page! I'm Laurie and my husband is Gregg! We have been married for a little over a year now, and wow, time sure does fly by fast! We are expecting our first child on November 27th, a little girl! We are so excited! We're naming her Hailee Sue Hardy! She has already been such a blessing in our lives, and now we are just so excited for her to be born! She is the first grandchild on my side, so believe me, she is already so spoiled! It's so much fun!
Other than that, we are currently applying for Firefighter/Paramedic positions in Southern California. We are hoping to get hired on in the next couple of months so then we can move this coming winter. We are currently living in Orem, UT...where the winters are freezing cold and snowy, but the snowboarding is absolutely AMAZING! I will miss that, but I think I still prefer the warm weather and being able to lay out in the winter months in CA. Well, Gregg is still working for Orem City as Firefighter/Paramedic. He has been with them for almost 3 years now! I was just recently let go from my job as a nanny for a family in Provo due to m pregnancy. They still call every now and then when they need a babysitter at nights for when they go out, but they let me go from being a full time nanny because she didn't want me to wear myself out too much this far along in the pregnancy. I'm a little bitter about it because I was planning on working until end of October, but what can I do?
Other than that, life is absolutely amazing! We are so blessed and are so thankful for having the Gospel in our lives.
