This past weekend we have been having to say our goodbyes to family and friends. Even though we are really excited to be moving to California, it sure isn't easy to have to say goodbye to everyone! But thank goodness for emails, blogs, hiking and Powell trips to keep in touch!
On Friday night we were able to get together with a few friends and went out to dinner. It was alot of fun!
Tonight we were able to go to Salt Lake to see all of Greggs family that is here in Utah. We first made a stop at Julie and Chris's house. We had a very enjoyable time visiting, playing Wii, and of course, showing Hailee off to everyone! We will sure miss all of you guys- Julie, Chris, Mike, Kenny and Kristi and their kids and Kaelynn. Thank you so much for all getting together and for all of the fun summer times that we have had! We hope to see you guys this summer at Lake Powell! We will sure miss you!
After Julie and Chris's, we went over to Gregg's Dads house where more of the family got together for a wonderful dinner and visit. Thank you guys for the wonderful times together, for the great hikes, yummy dinners and fun game nights! We hope to see you guys alot! We will miss you all- Dad Dave/Grandpa, Cheryl/Grandma, Alex and Tam, Erin and Jeremy, Betty, Jean, Colleen and all the rest of you!
We love all of you guys and thank you for all that you have done for us! Keep in touch and we will be seeing you soon!
Lots of Love, Gregg, Laurie and Hailee

Sounds like you have a wonderful support system no matter where you go!
It's always hard to move... no matter how excited you are for the next adventure! I bet you'll be happy to be closer to your family though :)
Congrats on the move to cali! I am jealous - we would love to move back there. Someday hopefully! I hope it goes well!
So first of all, Laurie I don't know what you are talking about (in response to your baby wt question) cause you are seriously SOOOOO TINY I can't even believe you have ANYTHING else to lose! I think I was as tiny as you when I was in 5th grade or something! You look incredible so don't be too harsh on yourself! But I can relate to your wanting to get rid of those last few lbs. I still have a few left to go, but I am still breastfeeding (not for much longer though) so if you are nursing still I think the body hangs on to some "extra" for a while because of that. I have tried SO HARD to drop the last few, but every time I try a little TOO hard (like you I run - I LOVE it!), my milk supply almost dries up - so that's why I'm bagging it until I'm done nursing. So I'm sure once you stop nursing that will happen for you too - but that's just my experience.
Anyways, here's my "baby weight" in a nutshell: I gained almost 30 with Kami and dropped the 1st 20 within the first month. But then the rest wouldn't budge! Around month 4 or 5 all of a sudden I finally dropped the next 5 or so without really trying. It was wierd - for 3 months I didn't lose a single pound - literally NOTHING, but then within 2 weeks 5-7 came off. So if she is only 3 months, then I'd give yourself another few months, especially since you are running so much, because I'm sure it's not because your not trying (obviously). But no matter how hard you try (at least for me) it didn't matter - until my hormones shifted or something and my body was like, "ok, we can get rid of a few". I'm amazed you still can nurse (if you are) with running that much - that's amazing! Because since the last 5 lbs I lost 4 months ago, my body won't let me lose any more without sacrificing my milk supply. So I am just waiting. I guess I'm assuming your nursing - but even if your not, I bet around months 4-6 you'll drop the last few all of a sudden. Hormones shifting etc. It's the same with some of my friends too. Other things I've done is that I've noticed I've had to do a lot more strengthening than I used too as well - and I think maybe that helped with my metabolism too, as well as I eat ALL the time - and a good amount - every few hours. I also started doing more high speed running work - intervals, fast miles, etc. instead of just long pace runs. I think that helps too. Anyways, this is a seriously LONG post, but hope that helps! I know how you feel (and I'm sure other moms do too) - it can be VERY frustrating. But again, you look incredible so I wouldn't stress! I am the one who should be asking YOU for advice! Let me know how it goes!
